Come spend an evening at a “gay girls” bar. The Femme Show’s Maggie Cee brings queer and lesbian history to life. This event is in support of Little Butchie’s.
About this Event
Come spend an evening at a “gay girls” bar. The Stonewall Rebellion is on the horizon, but across the U.S., working-class lesbians are fighting to create spaces where they can be themselves. They dress up, they flirt, they dance, and they become a powerful force for queer visibility.
Maggie Cee illuminates the feminine women whose stories are too often forgotten, bringing them to life through dance, music, historical text and original monologues. She explores her years as a teenage gay rights activist, her own identity, and fem history. The Hartford Courant called it a "major highlight" of the Hartford Fringe Festival.
Doors open 1/2 hour before the show begins.
